Golden is recognized as an adventure paradise with something for everyone. For those people who want to experience a full on Golden winter adventure, please check out the options below. These are “do it yourself” ideas to help our guests know about the various activities and options for what to do, in and around Golden.
Stay… ADVENTUROUS
Choose A Lodge At Mount 7 Lodges
Depending on the size of your group, choose one (or more) of our lodges. From the two bedroom Deer Lodge which is suitable for two to four people, up to our large three bedroom Bear Lodge which can sleep eight people we have a lodge to suit your group.
All lodges are self catering, with fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas, and your own private hot tub to ensure you can relax in comfort.
Activities
Once you have chosen your lodge and know how many days you’re staying in Golden, you can choose from one or more of the following activities. Be warned that once you start considering how many great activities are on offer, you may want to extend your stay!!
Skiing & Snowboarding
Located a short drive from Mount 7 Lodges, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is the perfect location for keen skiers and snowboarders. Known as the champagne powder capital, this is the place to be for chasing epic powder whether you ski or board.
For those staying at Mount 7 Lodges for a longer vacation and wanting to a day trip or multi centre vacation you can check out the neighbouring resorts of Lake Louise, Sunshine in Banff, Revelstoke, Panorama, Kimberley or Fernie.
Snowmobiling
Golden is renowned for its snowmobiling due to the wide range of riding terrain available and the spectacular scenery. The options for riding are virtually endless. Bring your own sleds or book a tour with the local snowmobile tour operator. Tour options include mountain tours or trail tours for those new to snowmobiling.

Dog Sled Tours
Experience this fully interactive tour and whisk back to a time of mushers and dog sleds! Journey with Golden Dog Sled Adventures through the wilderness, along side the beautiful rivers and spectacular mountains!
Feel like a true musher by helping harness the dogs and learning the commands. Try hoping on the back of your sled with your professional musher and lead the team through the winding frosty trail.

Fat Biking
Whilst winter is usually a time to switch gears and participate in winter sports and put the mountain bikes away for a rest, some people are keen to keep pedalling year round.
Golden Cycling Club maintain a couple of their trails for winter biking, so bring your own bike, or rent one from Higher Ground Sports in Golden.
