One of our favorite times in Golden! The area is a lot quieter after the busy summer months, pricing drops for some activities and the fall colors make for some stunning scenery and views. For those people who want to experience a full on Golden fall adventure, please check out the options below. These are “do it yourself” ideas to help our guests know about the various activities and options for what to do, in and around Golden.

Choose A Lodge At Mount 7 Lodges
Depending on the size of your group, choose one (or more) of our lodges. With the Deer Lodge and Red Fox Lodge suitable for two to four people, and our large Bear Lodge which can sleep eight people, we have a lodge to suit your group.
All lodges are self catering, with fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas, and your own private hot tub to ensure you can relax in comfort.
Activities
Once you have chosen your lodge and know how many days you’re staying in Golden, you can choose from one or more of the following activities. Be warned that once you start considering how many great activities are on offer, you may want to extend your stay!!
Hiking
Golden is a hikers paradise with amazing trails for everyone to enjoy. Surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, Purcell and Selkirk Mountains and close to six of the most stunning national parks in Canada, Golden is an ideal place for your hiking adventure.
Enjoy easy hikes along the Rotary Trails and from the Confluence Park on the Columbia River, or head to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort for gondola access to impressive ridge hikes with incredible views. For more information on hikes in the Golden area, please visit the Golden Hikes website.
Golf
Recently rated in the World’s Top 100 Golf Courses by Golfscape, Golden Golf Club is nestled between the Purcell and Rocky Mountains. Typically not closing until the middle of October, Golden Golf Club is credited as one of the most scenic courses in BC. Find out more and book a round at Golf Golden.
For those visiting after Golden Golf Club closes for the season, courses south of Mount 7 Lodges typically stay open a few weeks longer. Copper Point in Invermere (1.5 hrs drive) or Fairmont Hot Springs Riverside Golf Course (2 hours drive) are two favorites.
Horseback Riding
Located in the beautiful Blaeberry Valley, a short drive from Mount 7 Lodges, Bear Corner Bed & Bale offer 1, 2 and 3 hour guided trail rides.
With spectacular scenery and and rides along the Blaeberry River, they can accommodate riders from beginner to advanced.

Mountain Biking
On the bench a short ride from Mount 7 Lodges is the Mountain Shadows trail system. Ranging from short rolling trails to day long loops, there are a wide range of single track options for x-country mountain bikers.
For downhill enthusiasts, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort offers 3700 feet of vertical. Accessed by a gondola ride to the top you are then greeted with a wide range of downhill trails. Above the lodges, the Mount 7 network is a downhill mecca.

Sightseeing
Located in the heart of Kicking Horse Country, we are flanked to the west by the Purcell Mountain Range and to the East by the Canadian Rockies.
We are surrounded by six national mountain parks – Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Kootenay, Glacier and Mount Revelstoke.
Visit one of the many national parks and enjoy the stunning scenery at Emerald Lake, Wapta or Takakkaw Falls, take a guided hike or visit the fossils of the renowned Burgess Shale.
Fishing
Golden is situated on the Columbia River which offers a vast selection of rivers and streams as its tributaries. These and the numerous unspoiled lakes offer great fishing from early spring.
Golden offers fabulous fishing options for spin casting and fly-fishing from the shore or boat, and even ice fishing in the winter.

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort
Typically open for summer operations until the end of September, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort offers a range of late summer and early fall activities.
Visit Boo and listen to interpretive tour at the Grizzly Bear refuge. Take a gondola ride to the summit and enjoy the stunning views or take a ridgeline walk to see even more.

Mount 7 Lodges Relaxation
Kick back and relax! You don’t have to jump in the car to experience some of the best that Golden has to offer. On those days where you want to take a break from organized activities there are a wide range of options for enjoying a day in and around Mount 7 Lodges.
For those keen to expend some energy we have a beautiful hiking trail that starts next to the lodges. There are many lookout spots along the trail and once you reach the top, you are rewarded with breathtaking views of the entire valley.
We have a number of indoor and outdoor games for all guests to enjoy: croquet, board games, playing cards, balls and frisbee.
Or just relax in your private hot tub, or on your deck and take in the stunning views of the Columbia Valley.
