Although Golden has a reputation for adrenalin filled outdoor adventures, it also offers a wide variety of recreational activities for the less vertically adventurous. For those wanting to enjoy winter in Golden at a more relaxed pace, please check out the options below. These are “do it yourself” ideas to help our guests know about the various activities and options for what to do, in and around Golden.

Choose A Lodge At Mount 7 Lodges
Depending on the size of your group, choose one (or more) of our lodges. With the Deer Lodge and Red Fox Lodge suitable for two to four people, or our large three bedroom Bear Lodge which can sleep eight people, we have a lodge to suit your group.
All lodges are self catering, with fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas, and your own private hot tub to ensure you can relax in comfort.

Once you have chosen your lodge and know how many days you’re staying in Golden, you can choose from one or more of the following activities. Be warned that once you start considering how many great activities are on offer, you may want to extend your stay!!
X-Country Skiing
Located at the base of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort near Golden, BC, the Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre offers over 35 km of groomed classic and skate cross country ski trails, suitable for everyone from beginner to expert.
In mid winter, the Golden Golf Course trail system also has a series of maintained trails suitable for beginner and intermediate classic cross country skiing.

Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is a great way to experience the trails in the wintertime. Golden Nordic Center has a dedicated snowshoe trail and there are various trails in and around the resort. The Golden mountain bike trail networks also offers some great snowshoeing options.
Mount 7 Lodges have a number of snowshoe trails offering enjoyment for all the family. We also have a couple of gentle slopes where you can play on toboggans or try skiing or snowboarding for the very first time.
