At the foot of Mount 7 the Columbia wetlands offer naturalists the opportunity to experience the longest contiguous wetlands in North America that run 180 kilometres (110 miles).
This spectacular area supports more than 260 species of resident & migratory birds that inhabit this internationally important environment. Common sightings include bald eagles, great blue herons and plenty of waterfowl.
Close to Mount 7, Reflection Lake, the Edelweiss slough and Moberly Marsh are favourite birding spots. You can bird watch year-round, although more species are around during migration in spring (April to June) and fall (September to October).
